All Blacks back-row Ardie Savea has recommitted his future with New Zealand Rugby after signing a new deal until the end of 2027 Rugby World Cup.

Savea started his professional rugby career with provincial side Wellington in 2012 and went on to make his Super Rugby debut with Hurricanes a year later.

After making over 100 appearances for the club, Savea went on to head to Japan in 2023 to represent Kobelco Kobe Steelers and now will play for Moana Pasifika from the 2025 season.

The 2023 World Rugby Player of the Year has featured in 84 Tests for the All Blacks and was recently named the vice-captain of the side.

“The passion for the black jersey will always be there and I’m grateful for the opportunity I get to keep putting my hand up over the next three years," said Savea.

"I’m excited about what is ahead and will continue to challenge myself and my teammates to be better every day".

New Zealand head coach Scott Robertson is delighted with Savea remaining in New Zealand until the next World Cup.

“Ardie brings a huge amount of passion, care and mana to the All Blacks environment. He has led through his actions over a long period of time and has inspired his teammates with the way he’s represented his country, community, culture and family.

"He continues to have that drive to get better every day, and it’s a great result for New Zealand Rugby to have him recommit for another three years.”
