Waratahs have announced the signing of the Wallabies prop Isaac Kailea ahead of the 2025 season.

The signing will bolster the front-row options of the club that also has Australian internationals Angus Bell and Taniela Tupou.

The 24-year-old was named in the Rebels development squad for the 2021 Super Rugby AU season and later made his senior debut with the club that year. He also featured in 13 games for the club in the 2024 season and 22 Super Rugby matches overall.

His Test debut for the Wallabies came against Wales in Sydney and has overall featured in three matches.

“I’m very happy to be joining the Waratahs,” Kailea told the club's official website.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to play for such a proud club and to improve my game under Dan McKellar.

“The Waratahs are moving in a positive direction and I’m happy to be a part of it.”

Waratahs Director of Performance Simon Raiwalui is delighted in acquiring the services of Kailea ahead of the 2025 season.

“We’re very happy to have Isaac at the Waratahs in 2025,” Raiwalui said.

“Isaac is a good young player and one of the most promising props in the country.

“He’s tough, durable and a dynamic scrummager, and importantly, his best years are ahead of him.

“I’m excited to see how he gels with the likes of Angus Bell, David Porecki and Taniela Tupou and the positive impact he will make next year.”
