Crusaders have announced that prop Seb Calder has signed his first full-time contract with the Super Rugby club.

Calder made his professional rugby debut for Crusaders in 2022 during the clash against Western Force and has played 13 times for the club. He was also part of the Super Rugby winning squad of Crusaders two times.

“It’s pretty special to sign with the Crusaders, growing up here my whole life it’s the only thing I know,” he told the club's official website.

“I called my parents straight away to let them know – they were pretty happy for me.”

The 22-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the 2026 season.

Crusaders head coach Rob Penney had high praises for Calder.

“Seb has been a fantastic asset to the team over the past few years, and his hard work has been rewarded,” Penney said.

“We are all excited about the contribution that Seb will make to the Crusaders and we look forward to seeing his influence on and off the field.”
