The Western Force have secured the services of seasoned midfielder Sio Tomkinson for the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season.

The 28-year-old joins the Force after an impressive stint with Welsh club Dragons RFC, where he showcased his talent in both the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Challenge Cup over the last two seasons.

During his time at the Dragons, Tomkinson scored six tries in 24 appearances.

Tomkinson’s addition brings valuable Super Rugby experience to the Force, as he previously played 43 matches for the Highlanders between 2017 and 2022, crossing the try line 14 times. His robust performances at NPC level for Otago, where he notched up 49 appearances and 17 tries, further highlight his rugby pedigree.

Having also represented New Zealand at the Under-20 level in 2016, Tomkinson has quickly made his mark at the Force. His recent training performances earned him a spot in the squad touring South Africa for the upcoming spring series games, solidifying his place in the team.

Tomkinson, eager to return to Super Rugby and contribute to the Force’s ambitions, expressed his excitement about joining the Perth-based side and looks forward to the challenges of the upcoming season.

“I’m very excited to be signing with the Western Force and playing Super Rugby again,” Tomkinson told the club's official website.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead and can’t wait to rip into pre-season with the lads.

“I’m excited about what they’re building in Perth and thrilled to be part of it moving forwards.”
