The Bristol Bears have confirmed the return of Toby Fricker as short-term injury cover with immediate effect.

The versatile back three player has signed a three-month deal to rejoin the club following recent injuries to Noah Heward, who is sidelined with a hamstring issue, and Siva Naulago, who suffered a fractured cheekbone.

Fricker, who was recently capped by the USA, previously made 32 appearances for the Bears, scoring 12 tries before his departure at the end of the 2022/23 season.

His experience and familiarity with the team will be a valuable asset as the Bears look to navigate this challenging period with key players unavailable.

Bristol Bears director of rugby Pat Lam is confident that Fricker will add value to the squad.

“With long-term injuries in our back three to Siva and Noah, it’s great to be able to bring in a player of Toby’s quality and experience on a three-month deal.

“Toby knows our game and culture well having spent four seasons here and he’ll provide strong cover across the back three during this period.”
