Leicester Tigers head coach Michael Cheika has stated his ambitions for the new season after declaring his side are 'in it to win everything'.

At the end of June, Cheika was appointed as the new Leicester boss following the sudden departure of Dan McKellar. Last term, the Tigers finished in eighth place in the Gallagher Premiership.

So now it is the task of the former Australia and Argentina head coach to steer the Leicester ship back in the right direction, and the charismatic 57-year-old believes they can do just that.

"I probably wasn't aiming to come into the Premiership, but when a club like Leicester makes that approach it's almost impossible not to take it,' Cheika said on Monday.

"We're in it to win everything. I'm really happy we got into the European Cup because it will be important for us to compete as hard as we can on all fronts."

Two years ago, Leicester were back on top of English club rugby after Steve Borthwick led the Tigers to their first Premiership title in almost a decade.

Cheika - who has signed a one-year deal with an option to extend - is now hoping to elevate a Leicester squad stacked with talent, with the Tigers opening the new Premiership season away at Exeter Chiefs on September 21st.

Widely regarded as the most competitive rugby union league in the world...it can only be the Gallagher Premiership.

The division is becoming more and more exciting as each year passes by so who will be lifting silverware at Twickenham in May?
