Saracens have announced the signing of scrum-half Callum Braley on a short-term loan deal ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Braley has signed a three-month deal with the club as he will provide cover to Gareth Simpson, who will miss the start of the new season.

The 31-year-old started his career with Bristol in 2012 and had represented Gloucester, Hartpury College and Benetton Rugby in the past before joining Northampton Saints in 2022.

A former England Under 20 international, Braley also had represented Italy at the Test level featuring in 15 games between 2019 and 2022.

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall welcomed Braley to the squad.

“Callum is a very experienced player who we are confident will be a strong addition to our squad," said McCall to the club's official website.

"We are already impressed with how he has settled in and look forward to seeing him take to the pitch.”

Saracens will kick-start the 2024/25 season of the Gallagher Premiership with a clash against Gloucester Rugby at Kingsholm Stadium on 21st September.
