Glasgow Warriors 33-3 Zebre, Scotstoun

Glasgow Warriors delivered a commanding performance on Friday night, defeating Zebre Parma 33-3 in the BKT United Rugby Championship at Scotstoun Stadium.

The victory, marked by five tries, secured the Warriors a third consecutive bonus-point win, propelling them to the top of the standings.

The Warriors were quick to take control, with Johnny Matthews opening the scoring in the 15th minute after sustained pressure in Zebre's 22. Adam Hastings’ conversion put Glasgow ahead 7-0. Just two minutes later, Huw Jones, Stafford McDowall, and George Horne combined to set up Jamie Dobie, extending the lead to 14-0.

Zebre Parma responded with a penalty kick from Giacomo da Re, bringing the score to 14-3.

However, Glasgow’s momentum continued as Huw Jones crossed the line for his first try of the night, with Hastings converting to push the lead to 21-3 by halftime.

Glasgow’s attacking efforts persisted in the second half, with Jones completing his brace in the 52nd minute. Hastings’ flawless kicking made it 28-3, securing the bonus point. The fifth try came from Grant Stewart, replacing Matthews, who powered over from a maul to seal the 33-3 win.

Zebre Parma fought hard in the final quarter, but Glasgow’s defense, led by key turnovers from McDowall and Jack Dempsey, held firm, denying the visitors any further points. The win marks Glasgow’s 26th consecutive regular-season victory at Scotstoun.

Next, the Warriors head to South Africa for a double-header in the Rainbow Nation, hoping to maintain their unbeaten run.
