England Rugby has confirmed that Kevin Sinfield will continue his involvement with the senior men’s national team, extending his tenure as an assistant coach.

Sinfield, a former rugby league international, initially joined the England coaching setup as a defence coach ahead of the 2023 Six Nations campaign. Since then, he has expanded his responsibilities to include mentoring, skills development, and kicking strategy.

Starting from November, Sinfield will maintain his current role but with reduced off-field responsibilities outside of Test windows, providing him greater flexibility to manage personal and professional commitments.

“Kevin is a talented coach and an inspirational figure in our setup,” said England head coach Steve Borthwick.

“The work he does on and off the field is invaluable to our players, so I am pleased he’ll remain part of the management team and continue to contribute towards the success of England.”

The 44-year-old expressed his enthusiasm for the continued collaboration, stating that the new arrangement allows him to pursue his passion for coaching and mentoring while ensuring a healthy balance with other important commitments.

"Working with Steve and the team has been an immensely rewarding experience, and I am excited to continue my involvement with the team," said Sinfield.

"This new arrangement allows me to keep doing the thing that I'm passionate about, coaching and mentoring players, while also balancing other commitments which are important to me."
