England announce 36-man squad for upcoming autumn internationals

England head coach Steve Borthwick has announced a 36-man squad for the upcoming Autumn Nations Series, with notable omissions including Gloucester’s Christian Wade and Sale's George Ford.

The squad will gather for a training camp on Monday, October 7, ahead of their opening clash against New Zealand at Twickenham on 2nd November.

Despite his impressive form, including a hat-trick performance for Gloucester last weekend, Wade has not been included in Borthwick’s selection.

This decision leaves the winger, whose only previous England cap came in 2013, out of contention for the series. George Ford, meanwhile, was not considered for selection due to his ongoing recovery from injury.

Among those named in the squad are Alex Lozowski, Luke Cowan-Dickie, Tom Willis, Oscar Beard, Elliot Daly, and Trevor Davison, reflecting the depth and quality available in English rugby.

Borthwick expressed his eagerness to bring the players together for the training camp as they prepare for a challenging series ahead.

“After watching a competitive and high-scoring start to the Premiership season, I am once again looking forward to gathering the players together,” said head coach Steve Borthwick.

“This training camp is an important part of our preparations for the Autumn Nations Series as we continue to build on the cohesion we've developed over the past two campaigns.

“The squad reflects the depth and quality we have in English rugby, and we are looking forward to working with the players ahead of what will be a highly competitive series."
