Edinburgh have announced that long-serving centre Chris Dean will be leaving the club ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Dean, a product of Edinburgh Academy, made his senior debut with the club in 2014 and is already the most-capped centre player for the club.

He made his 50th appearance for the club in November 2017 against Ospreys and was named as uncapped player in Scotland's Six Nations squad in 2019.

His 100th appearance came during the Champions Cup game against Sale Sharks in December 2020 and recently made his 150th appearance for the club against Cardiff last season.

The 30-year-old also had represented Scotland Under 20 and Scotland 7s sides in the past.

“This has been a difficult decision, and one I’ve not taken lightly in any way, however the time felt right for a new challenge. I’m incredibly thankful to Edinburgh Rugby for their support throughout my time here, and especially for working with me and allowing me to make this decision," he told the club's official website.

“I’m immensely proud of what I’ve achieved at this club. To be the club’s most-capped centre is a huge honour, and something I’ll always cherish.

“I’ve made some incredible friends for life and played alongside some fantastic teammates over the years, while I’ll always be appreciative for the unwavering support of the Edinburgh fans. I look forward to what the future holds.”
