Springbok wing Kurt-Lee Arendse granted five-month sabbatical by Bulls

Bulls have confirmed that South Africa international Kurt-Lee Arendse will be granted a five-month sabbatical for a stint in Japan.

Arendse has been associated with Bulls since his professional rugby debut in 2020 and is contracted with the province until June 2026.

The 28-year-old featured for South Africa Sevens side between 2019 and 2021 and made his Test debut with the Springboks in 2022. He was also part of the South African side that went on to win the Rugby World Cup in 2023 in France.

Arendse will be heading to Japan where he will represent Sagamihara DynaBoards between December 2024 and May 2025 before return back to Bulls.

“I can confirm that Kurt-Lee Arendse has been granted a five-month sabbatical by the club, which will see him away from the club beginning December 2024 until April 2025,” spokesperson of Bulls confirmed to Rugby365.

He was awarded the Most Valuable Player and the United Rugby Championship Player of the club for the 2023/24 season.
