Wales head coach Warren Gatland has named a 34-man squad for the upcoming tour of Australia.

Rugby league convert Regan Grace heads the surprise selection with the 27-year-old switching code in 2022. He made his rugby union debut with Racing 92 in 2022 but Achilles injuries limited his participation.

The other two uncapped players in the squad include Josh Hathaway and hooker Efan Daniel.

Wales have been dented with injury in front row with Henry Thomas, Keiron Assiratti and Elliot Dee.

"I'm excited about this squad. We know Australia is a tough place to go and play rugby, but we are relishing the challenge," Gatland said in a Welsh Rugby media release.

"We are focusing on getting better as a group. This is a young squad that's still learning at this level.

"There are lots of positives and good things that we can build on from the weekend and there are also areas that we will be working hard to address over the next few weeks."

Wales will be locking horns with Australia in the two Test games on 6th and 13th July before concluding the tour with a game against Queensland Reds on 19th July.
