Munster announce signing of Thaakir Abrahams on three-year deal

Munster have confirmed the signing of back three player Thaakir Abrahams ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The 25-year-old, who can play at both wing and fullback started his professional rugby career with Sharks in 2020. Abrahams has an eye for the spectacular and his incredible solo try for Sharks against Leinster was nominated for the 2022/23 URC Try of the Season.

He had three seasons with Sharks before switching to Lyon in 2023 and on his only season he went on to score five tries in 13 matches including four tries in the Champions Cup.

Abrahams will now head to Munster in 2024 on a two-year contract joining the likes of Billy Burns, Tom Farrell and Diarmuid Kilgallen.

Meanwhile, Brian Gleeson, Edwin Edogbo, Mark Donnelly, Tony Butler and Ethan Coughlan have also stepped up to join the senior squad from Academy.

Eoghan Clarke, who recently joined the Irish province has signed a one-year contract extension with Oli Jager also committing his future until 2027.

Munster are at the top of the United Rugby Championship table with 12 wins from 17 matches.
