England 38-19 France, Kingsholm Stadium

England warmed up for the WXV1 with a 38-19 victory over Six Nations rivals France at Kingsholm Stadium on Saturday.

This was also the 14th consecutive win for England over France as they scored six tries. They now will face New Zealand in the second warm up game before heading to Canada for the WXV1 tournament.

England opened their account in the 11th minute when full-back Ellie Kildunne set up skipper Marlie Packer over the line and Holly Aitchison kicked the conversion to make it 7-0. England shortly extended their lead further as Maddie Feanati on her first Test start sent Jess Breach over but the conversion drifted wide this time.

France were down to 14 players temporarily with Agathe Sochat sin-binned for kicking out and shortly Helena Rowland dived from close range for their third try in the 25th minute and Aitchison kicked the conversion to make it 19-0 in the opening half.

England were the quickest to get off the block in the second half as Morwenna Talling scored from the driving maul to make it 26-0 before France scored a similar try through Sochat in the 45th minute.

Breach soon completed her second try after collecting a kick from Aitchison to make it 31-7 before number eight Menager scored for the France. The final 15 minutes saw Lucy Packer score from close range for the hosts before Bourdon Sansus scored a late consolation try for France as they lost the encounter by 19 points.
