France head coach Fabien Galthie has included flanker Anthony Jelonch in the 33-man Rugby World Cup squad.

Jelonch inclusion comes despite him suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the warm-up game against Scotland during the Six Nations in February with Galthie expecting him to be fit by mid-September.

“Anthony has worked a lot to get back to where he is now," the head coach told TF1.

“He’s not fit now but we think he will be back to his best by mid-September.”

The squad consists of 19 forwards and 14 backs but there is no place for prop Cyril Baille, who is sidelined with a calf injury.

With Romain Ntamack out of the competition following an anterior cruciate ligament injury during the game against Scotland, Matthieu Jalibert and Antonie Hastoy have been selected with Thomas Ramos providing cover if required.

Louis Bielle-Biarrey and Paul Boudehent, who made their debuts this month are part of the squad.
