England will miss the services of prop Joe Marler in the second Test against New Zealand to be played at Eden Park on Saturday following a foot injury.

The 34-year-old sustained the blow during the first Test in Dunedin where he managed to play just 17 minutes and was replaced by Fin Baxter.

The Rugby Football Union confirmed that Marler has been withdrawn from the England squad and will be unavailable for the remainder of the series.

Uncapped Northampton loosehead Emmanuel Iyogun has been added to the squad as a replacement for Marler. He will now arrive in New Zealand on Tuesday and will compete with Fin Baxter and Bevan Rodd.

Earlier, England captain Jamie George expressed disappointment following their narrow 16-15 defeat in the opening game against the All Blacks.

'We're gutted, of course we are. Not many teams come here and do that to the All Blacks. It's a tough result to take,' George told BBC Sport.

'We definitely weren't at our best but the fundamentals of our game, what we talk about regardless of the bounce of the ball, is us being out here and showing character and we did that in spades.

'In the week they were talking about not knowing too many of our players - I think they'll know us now.'
