Toulon have announced the signing of England flanker Lewis Ludlam ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Ludlam broke into the Northampton Saints' first-team squad in the 2016/17 season. He also spent short periods of his senior career on dual registration with Coventry, Moseley and Rotherham Titans.

The 28-year-old made his Premiership debut for the cub in the 2017/18 season and was part of the squad that clinched the domestic title in the recently concluded 2023/24 season when they defeated Bath in the finals.

He will now join three-time Champions Cup winners on a three-year contract where he will link up with his international team-mate Kyle Sinckler.

"I am very enthusiastic about joining this prestigious club, with a rich history and made up of very talented players," said Ludlam.

Ludlam made his England debut in 2019 and also had represented England Under 18 and Under 20 teams in the past. His move to France means Steve Borthwick will not be able to select him due to Rugby Football Union's policy of not selecting players plying trade overseas.
