England coach Eddie Jones has recalled Saracens scrum-half Ben Spencer to the World Cup squad ahead of the final as an injury replacement for Willi Heinz.

Heinz came off the bench replacing Ben Youngs in the 63rd minute during the semi-final win against New Zealand and has now been ruled out of the final game following a hamstring injury. The Gloucester half-back will remain with the squad in Tokyo.

Spencer has played three Tests for England since his international debut in June 2018 with his last appearance coming during the Six Nations tournament clash against Scotland earlier this year.

Having been part of Saracens' success since the Anglo-Welsh Cup win in 2015 where he kicked a last-minute penalty, he was also the top try-scorer for the Allianz Park outfit during the 2017/18 season.

This is the fourth time England have reached the final of a World Cup with their only title win coming in 2003 when they defeated Australia 20-17 in front of 82,958 spectators in Sydney.
